  Campaign Diary
Posted by: Carl on 3/2/2010 8:07:52 PM

I spent some quality time on the campaign today. Here's what I accomplished:
  • Copied the List Of Stuff from the Player's Handbook in to an Excel worksheet.
  • Worked on the money, settling on coinage, weight, size, production method, base metal content (where necessary), intrinsic value ratio, and modern value equivalent.
  • Completed a standardized weights and measures table for Length, Area, Volume-Dry, Volume-Liquid and Mass with Latin names, metric and Imperial equivalents.
  • Started a detailed calendar for the year 240 BCE and roughed out the days for each month, their letters, the Roman day, Festivals, Market days, work days, court days, magistrate days, temple days and interesting notes like, "Horse races today at Campus Martius."
  • Identified a pretty good map to use as my base political/physical map of Rome/Italia. You can see it here.
By the way, Emerson Kent has some really great maps on his site. Go see.
